Clik here to view. The day has 24 hours. Always and for everyone, no matter how much we’d like it to be, let’s say, three times longer. Quite obvious, right?
And yet some of us live the lives of their dreams, and some are stuck in the same place for years, sometimes afraid to even reach for the things they want (assuming, that they know what they desire at all).
Where does this lack of balance originate?
There are hundreds, if not thousands of reasons, but one that I often get to see when working with or meeting people is the fear of ‘what will others say or think about me?’
Even though we get the chance to make our dream a reality, our heads are filled with questions like:
- “What will my husband/wife/partner say?”
- “What will my neighbours think?”
- “What if they are right that..?”
- “What if they start laughing at me/talk about me beside my back/think I’m crazy..?”
Regularly played in our minds thoughts such as these can cause that, instead of achieving the goals we so badly want, we put them aside for ‘someday’, hiding behind all the responsibilities and duties we can think of, just not to do anything, that could push us outside the safe and friendly comfort zone. We surround ourselves with a wall build from worries and fear.
What is the price of living behind such a wall?
Your dreams and ideas don’t get accomplished. Your life doesn’t move in the direction you desire. You get the impression that no matter what you do, there’s always something missing. You feel this inner longing that can drive you crazy at times, but you are not sure for what or why. You are jealous of people, who make their dreams a reality and fill each and every day with passion and joy. The fear gets you to be stuck.
Is it worth it?
I don’t think so, but it is YOU that has to answer this question. Not your fear, you! And then ask a few more…
What could you achieve, if you didn’t worry about what others might think of you?
What would you do, where would you go, what would you spend your day on doing if you would listen to your heart, mind and soul? How would you feel? How would your life look like? What kind of person would you become?
A lot of difficult questions, I know. However, a very honest answer to every one of them might allow you to not only have the courage to reach for, but also achieve the dreams you’ve always dreamt of achieving! Image may be NSFW.

And you can do that all by being true to yourself and by letting go of the fear! Be You!
